Kyocera laser printers

Laser printers with KPDL (PostScript® compatible) and PCL5e emulation available with Windows and RISC OS drivers.

Kyocera laser printers are renowned for their ceramic drum technology, giving long lifetime and low cost per page. See the technology page.

Kyocera laser printers are eco-friendly, using non-toxic toner, and have a cartridge system that does not require you to replace the whole drum every time you add toner. On most models the drum life is specified at 300 thousand pages.

ExpLAN offer a range of models, most of which are available as B-grade devices at considerable cost savings. All B-grades come with a 6 month RTB warranty.

A-grade (new) units come with a 2-year swap-out warranty.

Note: These A4-size paper trays cannot be used at the same time as a Duplex-kit, but will also fit the FS-1200, and 1750 models. Please ask for advice.

* "Fast 1200 " resolution uses image enhancement to deliver the equivalent of 600dpi in the direction the paper is moving and 1800dpi on the other axis, thus giving the appearance of output from a full 1200dpi printer. This also makes the printer tolerant of mechanical judder on the paper feed path, and enables heavyweight or recycled media to be used.

A3 range

Heavy printers weight more than 60Kg and are sent by special delivery. Timed delivery arrangements will be made for customers to ensure they have adequate manpower to assist the driver in unloading. Costs vary depending on location in UK, but are typically £110 +VAT. Please ask.

Memory

Most Kyocera printers have 4Mb as standard, and we recommend the fitting of at least a further 4Mb to a 600dpi model, and 8Mb to a 1200dpi model, to permit RISC OS to download extra fonts on-the-fly.

For FS-800, FS-1750, FS-3750, FS-6700 and other older models, which use 72-pin SIMM memory:-

If you are doing Duplexing, then you need more RAM.

Network connections: Use of an integral network port on a laser printer may require significant increase in memory in order to provide adequate buffering for incoming network packets.
