Kyocera's renowned Ecosys technology is also now available on this magnificent colour laser printer. With fewer component replacements to add to the garbage piles, this printer really does have a small eco-footprint. The long-life drum lasts a minumum 100,000 colour pages before requiring replacement and offers a duty cycle of up to 25,000 pages/month.
The cost per page is a fraction of that offered by other manufacturer's models. For a quick comparison, based on an A4 page with 5% coverage of each colour:
- Kyocera FS-8000C: 3.3p
- QMS Magicolor 3100: 5.5p
- QMS Magicolor 2200: 7p
- HP Laserjet 8550: 8.6p
(prices based on manufacturer's own published figures, incl cost of all consumables)
The FS-8000C uses an integrated colour dithering system (KIR2) which calculates the dot-patterns at twice the resolution of the engine (1200dpi), giving smooth graduated shades and image clarity. This printer is ideal for those eye-catching colour posters and advertising brochures.
Now that 
B-grade
units are available from ExpLAN Computers, slashing prices to less than 45% of RRP, there's even more reason for buying an FS-8000C.
All B-grades are fully tested in an authorised Kyocera Service Centre and come with a 12 month RTB warranty.
A-grade (new) units come with a 2-year swap-out warranty.

Dimensions given above exclude the fold-down multipurpose input tray (to the right in photo above), and the optional face-up output tray (to the left). Additional clearance is required at the rear for airflow. The front flap folds down to permit toner cartridges etc to be added or to remove paper jams.

FS-8000C range of models
All FS-8000C models have KPDL (PostScript emulation) as standard and are supplied with a RISC OS driver in addition to the standard Windows drivers if required at no extra cost. One model, the FS-8000CDE, is unique to ExpLAN and available only as a B-grade with a very competitive price.

Heavy printers weigh more than 60Kg and are sent by special delivery. Timed delivery arrangements will be made for customers to ensure they have adequate manpower to assist the driver in unloading. Costs vary depending on location in UK, but are typically £110 +VAT for destinations in the central London, Bristol, Manchester, Leeds square. Please ask.
